HOW TO USE ATTACH-IT

The Small Attach-It
Nail the Small Attach-It to the back of small pictures up to 24" wide, pictures with narrow frames as well as clocks and plaques etc. You must be sure that the frame is not warped and that all the Attach-Its can insert fully into the drywall to attain the rated holding.

On a picture, mount them on the horizontal part of the frame.

Pictures under 6" wide need only one Attach-It.
Pictures between 6" and 24" need two small Attach-Its mounted at the top of the frame with the prongs pointing downwards.

If the picture is large and has a frame that is too narrow for the large Attach-It (less than 7/8") you can mount up to 4 small Attach-Its, two on the top, and two on the bottom of the frame. Multiples hold greater weight. One holds 10lb. . . Two hold 20lb. . . Three hold 30lb. . Four hold 40lb etc. How many to use

For greater security in halls and stairways where pictures may get bumped, use small Attach-Its at the bottom as well as the top of the frame. This method will also withstand vigorous dusting and pictures will stay straight.

The Medium Attach-It
The Medium sized Attach-It is now available.

The Large Attach-It
Screw two of these to the back of large pictures, heavy mirrors, decorative shelves, Shadow boxes, Wall Sculpture and much more! On pictures and mirrors screw on Attach-It's with the prongs pointing down, about one quarter of the distance from the top of the frame. Be sure that all old hardware is removed and that nothing will prevent the prongs from fully inserting into the drywall.

Oil paintings on canvas stretchers sometimes have the stretchers protruding out of the back of the frame. Mount the Attach-Its on the surface in contact with the wall. One holds 50lb. . . Two hold 100lb. How many to use

Use 2 large Attach-Its on round pictures or mirrors. Don't worry if the Attach-Its are not at the same height as long as the prongs are pointing downwards, they'll work OK.
Some mirrors are backed with card or hardboard. Mount the Attach-Its on the hardboard using longer screws if you can screw securely into the frame.
Otherwise pad out Attach-Its so prongs can fully penetrate into the drywall.

Attach-it for metal frames

The Attach-It for metal frames are now available.

The Level-It
We've designed a neat Level-It that ensures your pictures are straight first time. You don't need a buddy to tell you when it's straight.

1. Insert the Level-It between the glass and the frame and rest on a level surface.
2. Adjust Level-It until the bubble is centered.
3. Place picture lightly on wall without touching the Level-It and adjust the frame until the bubble is centered.
4. Push frame (fitted with Attach-Its) into the wall and
5. Remove Level-It.

Please read the full instruction sheet that comes with the product .

Use Level-It to hang decorative shelves straight. Rest the Level-It flat on the shelf. Place the shelf gently in position and when the bubble is centered, push shelf in the wall.

Shelves
Choose a shelf whose leg is at least as long as the shelf is deep. Always use two large Attach-Its for shelves. Attach-Its are not designed for shelves carrying heavy loads (max.10lb) or for wide shelves carrying items such as TV's or stereo equipment where the weight is far away from the wall. Avoid placing shelves where a person might bump it, lean on it, or pull on it. Do not place within a child's reach.

Screw 2 Large Attach-Its
on the back of the shelf.
Push it in the wall.

Use Level-It to hang shelves straight. Place the Level-It on the shelf lying down with the vial and bubble towards you. When bubble is centered push shelf in the wall.

Where you place an item on the shelf will affect how stable the shelf is. At the back of the shelf between the position of the Attach-Its is best.

It is best to position weight on the shelf between the position of the Attach-Its.

To install a shelf permanently you can use Attach-It with glue. After mounting the Attach-It, put glue (we recommend Goop or Liquid nails) on the back of the shelf and on the Attach-It itself, and push in the wall. The shelf will then be permanently installed and removing it will damage the surface of the drywall.

Sconces
Decorative sconces are great additions to any decor. They hold plates and figurines and look fantastic. Use only sconces that have at least 4" height (this gives the Attach-It it's stability). Use an Attach-It size appropriate for the size of the sconce.
Small Attach-Its can be glued to lightweight sconces made of plastic or molded resin. Rated holding will only be as strong as the glue. Sometimes you can nail into the material as well as using glue for extra strength. We use Goop or Liquid nails. Follow the manufacturers instructions and be sure to allow the glue to cure overnight.

Use the Medium or Large Attach-It on sconces over 10lbs. Sconces made of resin and stone composites are readily available. How you mount the Attach-Its will depend on the density of the material. With hard items you need to pre drill holes and use glue when screwing on the Attach-It. We use Goop or Liquid nails. With softer molded sconces you can sometimes screw directly into the material. It is usually advisable to use longer screws and glue to prevent the Attach-Its pulling away from the item.

Shadowboxes
Shadowboxes are enclosed shallow boxes with glass on the front surrounded by a decorative frame used to display an endless variety of treasures. These come ready made with models or collections or you can buy a basic shadowbox and fill it with your own memorabilia. Usually the part of the frame that lies against the wall is narrow so use the Small or Medium sized Attach-It.

Groupings
Hanging sets of pictures so they are straight and aligned is easy and fast with Attach-It. Think about the pattern the pictures or items will make and the spaces in between. If, say the top line of pictures needs to be aligned make an allowance for the prongs of the Attach-It to go down and into the wall. With a Small Attach-It place picture just 1/16" above finished height and with the Large Attach-It about 1/8". You can usually do this by eye and your pictures will be aligned.

With odd piece groupings, place items on the floor and change them until they make a pleasing display. Look at the spaces between the items, the size, shape and the colors to create a balanced (but maybe not symmetrical) arrangement. Then put grouping straight on the wall. If you don't like it - try again. Removing items from the wall

Non-wood items
Decorative sconces, frames and wall sculpture come in an endless variety of materials. If the back is flat and the material can be drilled, Attach-Its can usually be used to hang the item.

Attach-Its can be glued to lightweight items under 3lb. We recommend Goop or Liquid nails available at any hardware store. Follow the manufacturers instructions and be sure to let the glue set overnight. Rated holding will only be as good as the glue.

Stone and resin composites weighing more than 3lb can usually have holes drilled for the nails or the screws depending on what size Attach-It used. We recommend using glue as well as the hardware.

Some softer molded materials don't need holes drilled for the screws and the Attach-it can be screwed directly on. It is usually advisable to use longer screws with glue to prevent the Attach-Its pulling away from the item.
