Wall Art comes in all shapes, sizes and media, but what is important when using the Attach-It is the structure of the item itself or the frame it is mounted in.
FLAT FRAMED ART INCLUDING ORIGINAL PAINTINGS, PRINTS, PHOTOS, MIXED MEDIA etc. Most flat art is mounted behind glass and matt board with hardboard behind it holding it in a frame with pins. The plane of the hardboard is usually inset into the frame leaving the back of the frame to come in contact with the wall when it is hung. Attach-its should be mounted on the surface of the frame which is contact with the wall so the prongs can fully embed into the drywall.

Paintings on canvas stretchers sometimes have the stretchers protruding out of the back of the frame. Mount the Attach-Its on the surface in contact with the wall.

Ensure the back is flat and the Attach-it is mounted on the part of the item that is in contact with the wall so that the prongs can insert fully into the drywall.

The same rules apply to antiques as for any other picture. The
frame or material that the Attach-it is mounted on must be sound
and the Attach-it is must be mounted on the part of the item that
is in contact with the wall so that the prongs can insert fully
into the drywall.
